SO Fine Art Editions presents Capture, a group show of contemporary photographers to coincide with PhotoIreland Festival 2019.
Participating artists: Enda Bowe, Patricio Cassioni, Gregory Dunn, Diarmuit Grogan, Joe Lee, Fionn McCann, Aisling McCoy, Hugh O’Conor, Dominic Turner.
Enda Bowe’s work is concerned with storytelling and the search for light and beauty in the ordinary. SO Fine Art are exhibiting images from his project This Thing I Want, I Know Not What, a collaboration with writer Bryony Miller.
Patricio Cassioni, born in Buenos Aires, has exhibited in Dublin and internationally. These works are part of his Fantastic Portaits series and deal with the human form and identity.
Gregory Dunn has been working on personal photographic and film projects for a number of years, documenting various aspects of Ireland with a particular interest in the unconsidered.
Diarmait Grogan’s practice deals with the mysterious and the mundane. He combines every day moments with personal elements to create non-linear narratives.
Joe Lee graduated as a Fine Art Printmaker but since then he has worked predominantly as an independent film and video maker. He is currently working on a digital film archival project with the Irish Museum of Modern Art.
Fionn McCann’s academic background in Archeology has led him to a photographic practice, which concentrates on the relationship between the built environment and surrounding landscape.
The presented works by Aisling McCoy’s are as part of her project The Radiant City which examines the concept of Utopia via Le Corbusiers Unite d’Habition in Marseille. Designed in 1952 it was considered a prototype of housing for the future. Sixty years later, McCoy captured these images which highlight the role of both architecture and photography in creating the ideal.
Hugh O’Conor is an actor, director and a talented photographer whose work depicts emotive portraits and landscapes.
Dominic Turner is a master photographic printer and an established photographer who regularly adopts a layered approach to image making. SO Fine Art are exhibiting images from his series False Friends (Vicissitudes).
